Our History
It was early one morning that an entrepreneur (Steven R. Sponder) was in line at a local coffee shop. He was about to order his coffee, when he realized that he had forgotten to take his morning vitamin pill before leaving home.
He wondered how many other people also forgot to take their daily vitamin, so he did some research in his office at the Florida Atlantic University Research & Development Park. It turned out that forgetting to take one's daily vitamin pill was a common occurance. In fact, millions of people had bottles of vitamin pills at home in a cabinet, yet found reason to stop taking their daily vitamin pill. He asked people if there was something in particular they disliked about vitamins? The replies most often given were: “I don't like swallowing vitamin pills and I don't like the taste or smell of vitamins." It seemed that everyone had reasons for not taking their daily vitamin pills, yet most felt that vitamins are an important part of overall good health.
Sponder had a gut feeling that people would take vitamins on a daily basis if they didn't have to swallow a pill and deal with that awful "vitamin taste." He looked around and noticed lots of people were tearing open sweetener packets and pouring them into their beverages, so he thought "What if I invented the first completely TASTE-FREE vitamin powder - and put it in a convenient sweetener-style packet?”
People loved the idea, so he hired the best nutritional scientists and challenged them to create a vitamin powder that would be completely taste-free in all foods and beverages. This had never been accomplished before, and at first, the scientists said it just couldn't be done because vitamins have strong flavors, colors and odors, and would surely change the taste of anything they were added to. Sponder, being an entrepreneur used to overcoming challenges was persistent and would not give up on his dream. He worked through each obstacle and after several years of research, development and testing, the VPLENISH® formula was produced and patents were filed.
